Christian Hopewell is a multi-talented visual storyteller and writer with a rich background across photography, videography, and editorial content.
His journey began in 2012 with the launch of his successful YouTube channel, 'Lazy Dreads,' which ultimately achieved over 70,000 subscribers and 8 million views, establishing his early expertise in social-focused video content.
In 2017, Christian expanded his professional work, beginning as an event and music photographer for Licklist, while simultaneously undertaking video projects for Special Olympics GB and Sky News. His international experience grew in 2018 when he worked as an events photographer for Norway’s X2 Festivalen and DokFilm film festival.
Christian studied Natural Sciences through the Open University, Creative Commercial Photography and Editorial Design at Høgskulen i Volda and graduated with First Class Honors in Journalism from the University of Sheffield.
Graduating in 2019, Christian swiftly transitioned into a role as a full-time Digital Content Producer for Expert Reviews. During his tenure with Expert Reviews, Christian oversaw the brand’s in-house photography and video output. He played a pivotal role in spearheading the brand’s YouTube relaunch in 2023, resulting in over 4,000,000 views to date, and overseeing the successful launch of their TikTok and Instagram channels.
As a freelance creative, Christian has contributed photo and video content to The Guardian, written content for The Telegraph, CBeebies Magazine, MEGA Magazine and Cameraventures, while regularly undertaking live event work for The Leadmill and Corporation.
